Frequently asked questions
How often should I check my wheel alignment?
Every 12 months or 15,000 km — whichever comes first. Also after any collision, kerb strike, or new tyre fitment.
What's the difference between alignment and balancing?
Alignment corrects the angle of your wheels relative to each other and the road. Balancing corrects weight distribution within each wheel and tyre assembly. Both affect handling and tyre wear — they're related but separate.
My steering wheel isn't centred — is that an alignment issue?
Usually yes. An off-centre steering wheel after driving straight is a classic sign of wheel alignment being out. Come in and we'll check.
Can alignment affect fuel consumption?
Yes. Misaligned wheels create rolling resistance, which increases fuel consumption. Correct alignment can improve efficiency noticeably.
Do I need alignment after a small pothole hit?
If the hit was hard enough to feel it through the steering, it's worth checking. Potholes and kerbs are common causes of alignment going out of spec.
